Whether your space is sparkling or not, whether the highlights are prominent or whether the objects in the house are displaying their true colors or not, all depend on the quality of the light of the device you choose. So how to choose the light to meet all the above needs? What are the indicators of light quality that you need to care about? QNT’s article will guide you through the most basic parameters that determine the quality of light so that everyone can choose the right type of light for each area in their home.
1. Color temperature
The first important indicator that determines the quality of light is color temperature. Below is an illustration of the different color temperatures of light:

Neutral light – Light similar to the color of sunlight will make your space brighter, the color of everything is most realistic. This is also the most commonly used light color because it is suitable for all contexts, whether the room is designed with artistic or simple points. The neutral light color is slightly yellow, creating a comfortable feeling for everyone, not too bright or hot, and is suitable for bedrooms, living rooms or reading rooms, ensuring enough brightness for the eyes. A neutral light room and a few highlights or yellow light borders are the most perfect color combination for the space and vice versa, neutral light used to highlight the border of a yellow light space is also a great choice when considering the quality of light in the space.

White light is the most popular choice for offices and factories because of its high lighting efficiency, helping the eyes see every detail clearly and also suppressing drowsiness. For private homes, white light also enhances the modernity of the space and can also be coordinated with any wall color without distorting its color. The main white light with some neutral accents or borders will be the perfect combination to keep the house from being monotonous but still maintain the overall harmony and cool tone.

2. Color Rendering Index (CRI)

The next index that determines the quality of light in your space is the color rendering index. The color rendering index is denoted by the CRI index – also known as the fidelity of light as we see in the illustration, the higher the CRI, the more realistic and fresh the color of the object will be. This is an important parameter when choosing light. For poor quality lamps, CRI less than 70 will make the skin pale, the color of objects in the house will not be sharp and deviate from the actual color. The standard CRI to ensure fidelity is 80 or higher. The lamps distributed by QNT today all meet the standard of 80 or higher for all types of lamps, and can be up to CRI 85 or 90 for customers with high requirements.
3. Illuminance
Illuminance is the final important index that determines the quality of light. Illuminance is the parameter that determines whether the lamp is bright enough for the space or not. To know what is bright enough, people set certain standards for illuminance for each type of room. The unit of illuminance is lux (Lm/m2), calculated by the total luminous flux of the lamp emitted per square meter. A space with harmonious light is CRI above 80 but not bright enough, it is still uncomfortable for the eyes and the color of objects is also affected.
