1. The section of the power line that goes into the house (outdoor section)
This section of the power line is the line that connects the local power grid to the house, usually this section of the wire is completely outdoors (except for a very few houses that use underground cables, this section of the wire is buried underground). This section of the outdoor power line is recommended to use one of the following types of wire/cable:

2. The wire from the house to the meter (meter cable)
This wire is the wire that connects the end of the outdoor wire (mentioned in section 3.1) to the meter (electricity meter). Usually this wire is half along the wall, half inside the house (because the meter is usually placed inside the house). This electrical conductor section is recommended to use one of the following types of wire/cable:
– Copper core meter cable, PVC insulation (DK-CVV)
Copper core meter cable with PVC insulation is also called Muller cable with copper core PVC insulation, the cable has 2 or more than 2 conductors, the conductor is 1 solid copper wire or 7 wires twisted together, each conductor is insulated with PVC material, a PVC lining layer, an aluminum tape layer (to prevent electricity theft) and a protective PVC sheath outside, the voltage level of the cable is 450/750V or 0.6/1kV.
– Copper core meter cable, XLPE insulation (DK-CXV)
XLPE insulated copper core meter cable is also called XLPE insulated copper core Muller cable, the cable has 2 or more than 2 conductors, the conductor is 1 solid copper wire or 7 wires twisted together, each conductor is insulated with white-transparent XLPE material (natural color), one of the two cores has a colored tape or colored stripe to distinguish the phase, a PVC lining layer, an aluminum tape layer (to prevent electricity theft) and a protective PVC outer sheath, the cable voltage level is 0.6/1kV.

3.Electrical wires from the electric meter to the power consuming devices (indoor wires)
In Vietnam, the two electrical wires mentioned in sections (1) and (2) are mostly selected and installed by the Electricity Department if the homeowner does not have any special requirements. As for the electrical wires from the electric meter to the power consuming devices, most of them are decided by the homeowner, this is the work that this guide considers necessary for the homeowner to pay attention to. The following types of electrical wires are recommended for use:
3.1. Solid single wire (VC)
A solid single wire (VC) is a wire with a core of 1 copper wire, covered with PVC insulation. The voltage level of the wire is 600V.
In addition, there is a Lead-Free Solid Wire (LF-VC), which is harmless to humans and the environment by using lead-free PVC material (LF-PVC), in accordance with the European RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) regulations.

3.2. Soft Single Wire (VCm)
Soft Single Wire (VCm) is a wire with a core consisting of many copper wires twisted together, insulated with PVC material. The voltage level of the wire is 250V.
In addition, there is also Lead-Free Soft Single Wire (LF-VCm), which is harmless to humans and the environment by using Lead-Free PVC material (LF-PVC).

3.3. Flat Soft Twin Wire (VCmd)
Flat Soft Twin Wire (VCmd) is a wire with 2 cores, each core consists of many copper wires twisted together, these 2 cores are covered with PVC insulation and the insulation of the 2 cores is stuck together to create a flat wire with 2 parallel insulated cores. The voltage level of the wire is 250V.
In addition, there is also Lead-Free Flat Soft Twin Wire (LF-VCmd), which is harmless to humans and the environment by using lead-free PVC material (LF-PVC).
3.4. Twisted Soft Pair Wire (VCmx)
The twisted soft pair wire (VCmx) is a wire twisted from 2 separate soft single wires (VCm). The voltage level of the wire is 250V.
In addition, there is also Lead-Free Twisted Soft Pair Wire (LF-VCmx), which is harmless to humans and the environment by using Lead-Free PVC material (LF-PVC).

3.5. Round soft double wire (VCmt)
Round Soft Twisted Pair (VCmt) is a wire consisting of 2 separate single soft wires (VCm) twisted or placed in parallel and then covered with a protective layer of PVC. This wire is also called CVVm cable. The voltage level of the wire is 250V. In addition, there is also Lead-Free Round Soft Pair (LF-VCmt), which is harmless to humans and the environment by using Lead-Free PVC material (LF-PVC).

3.6. Soft Oval Double Wire (VCmo)
Oval Soft Twin Conductor (VCmo) is a wire consisting of 2 separate soft single wires (VCm) twisted together or placed in parallel and then covered with a protective layer of PVC. This wire is also called oval CVVm cable. The voltage level of the wire is 250V. In addition, there is also Lead-Free Oval Soft Twin Wire (LF-VCmo), which is harmless to humans and the environment by using Lead-Free PVC material (LF-PVC).

3.7. Solid single conductor, aluminum core (VA)
Solid single conductor, aluminum core (VA) is a wire with a core of 1 aluminum wire, covered with PVC insulation. The voltage level of the wire is 600V. In addition, there is also a solid single conductor aluminum core lead-free wire (LF-VA), which is harmless to humans and the environment by using lead-free PVC material (LF-PVC).

3.8. Copper core power wire, PVC (CV) insulation
Copper core, PVC insulated power cord (CV) is a wire with a core consisting of 7 (or 19) copper wires twisted concentrically, covered with a layer of PVC insulation. The voltage level of the wire is 450/750V or 0.6/1kV. In addition, there is also Copper core, PVC insulated lead-free power cord (LF-CV), which is harmless to humans and the environment by using lead-free PVC material (LF-PVC).

3.9. Copper core power cable, PVC insulation, PVC protective sheath (CVV)
Copper core, PVC insulation, PVC sheath (CVV) power cable is a cable with 1 or more cable cores, each cable core has a conductor consisting of 7 (or 19) copper wires twisted concentrically and covered with a layer of PVC insulation. CVV cable has an outer PVC protective layer. The voltage level of the cable is 450/750V or 0.6/1kV. In addition, there is also Copper core, lead-free PVC insulation, lead-free PVC sheath (LF-CVV) power cable, which is harmless to humans and the environment by using lead-free PVC material (LF-PVC) for insulation and sheath.
